Safety

Profiles at the AupairConnect.com are not screened. We do not perform background checks or check the validity of the accounts. We do monitor our web site for suspicious profiles; however, there is always a chance that people may not be who they say they are. There are precautions that you can take to make sure you are dealing with genuine people.

If you receive an email from an AupairConnect user, you first need to ask them to point you to their profile page. You can ask them for their Member ID number and type it to the Member ID search box to view the profile. Users can also send each other direct link to their profile. You should make sure that the address line reads http://www.aupairconnect.com...

When you read through someone's profile, make sure the information on the profile and the information on the email match. If you cannot locate the profile, we might have deleted it as we delete the suspicious profiles as fast as we locate them. We also rely on our users to report us suspicious profiles. If you come across any suspicious users please email us at support@aupairconnect.com.

If you are interviewing someone and not sure if you are talking to who they say they are, you can ask them to send you a couple of new photos. Ask them to hold a piece of paper with your name written on it. You can also ask them to pose certain ways to make sure that they are not sending you photos that can be bought on the Internet as it is easy to buy any type of family or young people's photos nowadays.

Answers to your questions during the interview process can give you a pretty good idea of the person. Ask the same questions more than once over the period of time and write down the answers. Compare the answers to make sure there is no conflict. International phone calls are quiet affordable these days. Call the person you are interviewing with. Talk on the phone at least a few times. Being able to communicate on the phone also is a good way to find out if you can communicate in that language.

Always stay away from people who ask you for money. Scammers are out there to defraud people. Anyone who asks you for money is a scammer. There is no need to exchange money if you want to be an au pair or if you want to hire an aupair. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the au pair. Families don't need to send them money. Aupairs are the people looking for a job, they don't need to pay anyone or any travel agency to handle their paperwork. For most countries, paperwork can be handled between the au pair and the family by exchanging legal visa forms and employment contract.
