I always wanted to live in Italy and learn more about the Italian culture. A friend of mine who had been an au pair suggested that I should be an au pair. I searched for the Italian families in your web site and registered. I was contacted by a great Italian family with two little girls. After talking on the phone several times, I am going to Italy this year to be their au pair. Thank you au pair connect.

Update: I'm in Italy working for the wonderful family I found on au pair connect. Everything is working out great. I am happy to be here as this family's au pair. The children are very warm and give me hugs. They don't make me miss my family. I'm mostly speaking English with my host parents and Italian with the children. My Italian is getting better. Then I will start speaking Italian with everyone. I am studying very hard and going to school to improve my Italian.

My host family lives in a pretty town near Venice. My host mother is a lawyer and the host father works in a company as an investment specialist. Italy is the most beautiful country I have ever seen. I wanted to be an au pair here since my first visit 3 years ago. Our town is lovely and the home is beautiful. I have my own room and bathroom. I have a computer, television and internet connection. I can email my friends and send them pictures. We eat dinner together every evening. My host parents are great cooks and the Italian food is very delicious. I sometimes cook for the family as I love cooking.

Italian people are very nice. We have great neigbors and lots of children. Neighbors are always ready to help is I need anything during the day. There are always people to talk to and everyone is very helpful. There are not any au pairs in our neighborhood. My school friends know some other au pairs in the area and I will meet them soon. This would help my language and I can go out with them on the weekends.

My au pair experience has been very exciting so far. I am very glad I came to Italy and met my family here. This is an important life experience for me first time away from my parents.
