Do we have to sign a contract?

Countries with official au pair programs require both parties to sign a written contract. Please check the visa information for particular countries.

For other countries, an employment contract detailing the conditions of the employment should be drawn and signed by both parties. This agreement should include the duties, work hours, car usage, salary, off time, accommodations and everything else that was discussed and agreed upon by the aupair and the family.
