Language and Language Courses

Au pairs must have a basic knowledge of the language of the country they are going. Even though one of the benefits of the aupair work is to learn a new language au pair should be able to communicate with the host family in their language. In case of an emergency, she or he should be able to get help.

Most aupairs attend language courses during their stay. Some country's au pair programs even require them to do so. Aupair should be given time to take classes provided that the hours are suitable for both parties. Please check the visas to find out who is responsible for the cost the classes.
