Au Pair Travel Expenses

Travel expenses to the host family's country is the responsibility of the aupair. For most au pairs the airfare can be quite expensive due to the low income levels in some parts of the world. In turn, they may ask the family to pay for the ticket. Families should not send a ticket or send money to anyone upfront to protect themselves from potential scams. The only way to reimburse an au pair for the airfare should be over the period of her stay and not in lump sums.
