What are our responsibilities as a host family?

Your responsibilities as a host family depend on your country if your country has an official au pair program. Some countries' au pair programs may require family to pay some or all of the medical insurance and language school tuition as well. Otherwise, you can discuss all the details with the au pair before hiring her.

Below are the typical host family responsibilities:

      Provide au pair free private room and board
      Pay au pair a weekly salary
      Include au pair in your activities and treat her as a part of the family
